Jewellery Workshop

A basic jewellery course. You will be working with metal – mostly copper and brass and you will make jewellery from your own designs. You will learn how to texture, saw, file, heat and solder the metal.

Course content
 
A basic jewellery course using the facilities of a purpose built jewellery workshop. You will be working with metal – mostly copper and brass and you will make jewellery from your own designs. You will learn how to texture, saw, file, heat and solder the metal. You could also find yourself learning how to use enamel or resin.
 
Health and safety is very important, therefore you will learn how to work safely within the jewellery workshop.
 
You need to have a certain level of dexterity to use jewellery tools and equipment and it is important for students to have a strong sense of personal safety.
 
Who is the course suitable for?
 
Adults aged 19+ with a range of learning disabilities.
Location and facilities
 
The course is based in one of the ground floor workshops at our Blenheim Walk Building, which is located behind Woodhouse Lane near the Leeds university Parkinson steps.
 
Equipment and materials costs
 
There are no materials costs for this course. You may wish to bring money for tea/coffee at the break
Fees
There are no fees for this course.

Please note: We are not enrolling first come first served this year and instead are allocating places in the fairest way possible, giving new students priority and continuing students that want to return the chance to get one or two of their choices. We will confirm that you have a place on the course in writing by 4 September at the very latest.
 
Please note that training centres cannot apply for more than four students to join one course.
