Nightlife

Leeds is truly a 24-hour city! During the day you’ll enjoy cosmopolitan street cafés and the waterfront... at night, there are comedy clubs and a vast number of watering holes, from Headingley’s traditional pubs to more contemporary city-centre bars.

Recently voted the UK’s number-one city for clubbing, Leeds has over 30 nightclubs, offering something for everyone.

Restaurants cater for every taste, including Japanese, Spanish, Bavarian, Indonesian, Greek, Mexican, Thai, and Caribbean American in additional to the usual choices—and nearby is the original Harry Ramsden’s fish and chip shop, complete with chandeliers!

There are hundreds of performance venues in and around the city: the West Yorkshire Playhouse is second only to London theatres in terms of its number of productions; other nationally acclaimed companies include Opera North and Phoenix Dance Theatre.

You won’t want to miss being among the 70,000 attending the Leeds Festival. Roundhay Park also stages huge open-air music events for all tastes.
